SAINE-ZENNE
With the Saine-Zenne project, we want to make the Zenne river visible and attractive again for Brussels residents, with a central role in social life. In collaboration with various partners within the project SMART WATER (http://www.smartwater.brussels), we propose a research and development project that will lead to the construction of a laboratory nursery of specific purifying native swamp plants in a cushioned arm of “De Kleine Zenne” in Anderlecht. In this way we test the efficiency of alternative water treatment and ecological water management. Through activities, the intention is to actively involve stakeholders in a future relationship with the river and to naturally purify and revitalize the water through phytoremediation.
